Educational Planning and Assessment System

GEAR UP Kentucky encourages member schools to participate in EPAS to supplement their academic planning process. EPAS is an approach proven to prepare students for college-level work.

Beginning in 2003-04, GEAR UP will provide three components of EPAS for schools that volunteer to use the system. The goal is to reduce the number of students performing at the novice level, to advance more students to proficiency, and to prepare more students for college. EPAS offers a systematic tool to help schools identify their strengths and weaknesses and align academic supports with individual student needs.
